Welcome to the wonderland - Lijiang, Yunnan! According to your flight schedule, your tour guide and driver will wait for you in the Arrival Hall of the airport on time, holding a signboard with your name on it, and then chauffeur you to a comfy hotel.

After a short rest, your 6 days Yunnan tour will start with a stroll around the Lijiang Old Town. You can walk through the cobble-paved streets and lanes to take in the quaint and time-weathered residences as well as the archaic restaurants and inns.

After breakfast, we will board a private car to the foot of the grand Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. A superb cable car ride will be included to take you straight up to the Spruce Plateau at an altitude of 3,240 meters (10,630 feet). After getting off the cable car, your guide will lead you to venture through the verdant spruce primitive forest to the breathtaking alpine pastureland, from where you could get an awe-inspiring view of the 13 peaks of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

After descending from the mountain, we will proceed to the Baisha Village which is famous for the exquisite murals dating back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1912). Those well-kept paintings will vividly tell you of the ancient Naxi people's religious beliefs and daily lifestyle. Then, a visit to a local Naxi family will enable you to experience the unsophisticated rural life.

After breakfast, we will head for Shangri-La by a private transfer. During the 4 - 5 hours' drive, you will first travel through the First Bend of the Yangtze River, where the river is blessed with a natural spectacle of V-shaped turns from south to east narrowed by the high mountains and deep gorges. Then you will be guided to the Shigu Town to take pictures of the first bend from the best viewing deck, and immerse yourself into the tranquil town.

After lunch, your guide will escort you to sight-see the Tiger Leaping Gorge which is favored by worldwide hiking lovers. You will catch the soul of the mighty Yangtze at its narrowest and deepest gorge and stand in awe of its thundering torrents and soars. Later, we will continue our drive to Shangri-La and your local guide will help you check in at a fancy hotel after arrival.

Today's sightseeing tour will start from the famous Songzanlin Monastery. Perched on the hillside, Songzanlin is the biggest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan and is nicknamed the "Little Potala Palace". There you could not only appreciate the splendid architecture art, but also dig deep into the Tibetan Buddhism through the priceless relics stored inside.

The afternoon will be highlighted by the Potatso National Park which is famed as the last pure land in China. The fairytale park is comprised of alpine meadows, jade-like lakes, wetlands as well as primitive forests and pastureland. You will have a chance to explore the wonderland by a boat cruise on the Shudu Lake and enjoy a leisurely roaming around the picturesque Militang Pasture. At last, a Tibetan family visit will be arranged for you to get a close touch with the local people and their simple pastoral life.

After breakfast, your guide will show you around the Old Town of Dukezong, which is laid out as an eight-petal lotus flower with the Moonlight Square in the center. Rows upon rows of wooden-structured Tibetan houses are lined along the winding lanes, where generations of Tibetans have lived a peaceful life. Dukezong Old Town is also the seat of the world's largest prayer wheel that needs three people to work together to spin.

After lunch, you will pay a visit to the Shangri-La Tangka Institution to revel in the exquisite Tangka works on display, and a hands-on chance will be given to you to learn to paint a Tangka, which may take about 3 hours. After finishing the class, you will be chauffeured to the airport for a departure flight to Kunming. Your Kunming local guide and driver will wait for you at the airport on time and then transfer you to a nice hotel.

Today, we will have a delightful morning excursion to the most extraordinary natural wonder of Kunming, the Stone Forest. Your guide will take you to visit a labyrinth-like forest made up of numerous limestone towers and pinnacles that were formed through over millions of years' water erosion. Then we will move to the Nuohei Village, a secluded settlement of the Yi Minority, to discover their unique folk residences, and stroll on the stone-paved path to uncover their ethnic culture and traditional way of life.

Then your Lijiang Shangrila Kunming tour will draw to a close here. Your guide and driver will see you off at the airport or railway station according to your schedule. Wish you a nice journey home!
