Next, we will drive for around 1.5 hours to get to the Mutianyu Great Wall, another highlight of this Beijing 2-day tour. It is the longest section with over 96% vegetation coverage, thus has distinctive scenery in four seasons. Before visiting the Great Wall, enjoy a buffet lunch we’ve included for you at a nearby restaurant, which offers various Chinese and western-style dishes, such as Fish Flavored Pork Slices and tomato pasta, as well as seasonal fruits and soft drinks.
Later, take a round-trip cable car between the entrance and the No. 14 Watchtower on the Mutianyu Great Wall, which features peculiar passes, two-sided crenels, and dense watchtowers, demonstrating a significant military value in ancient times. If you prefer thrills, we can also arrange for you to take a chairlift to the No. 6 Watchtower, and then take a toboggan down from there after the exploration on the Great Wall. You can tell the tour guide your choice on the spot. Once on the Great Wall, you’ll have enough time to enjoy a fantastic hike while discovering the detailed architectural design of those watchtowers.
Note: Children under the age of 10 need to be accompanied by an adult when riding the toboggan. Visitors aged 60 and above or those with acrophobia, hypertension, or heart disease, are not permitted to take the toboggan.
When descending the Great Wall, let’s relax with a free tea ceremony in an old-style teahouse. After the tea master brews a cup of tea for you through a complex process, under the guidance, you’ll smell its aroma and savor it like an adept. You’ll be delighted by 5 different flavors of tea while feeling the charm of Chinese traditional tea culture.
At around 17:00, your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel in downtown Beijing.
