Day 01: Beijing - Taiyuan
Double Pagoda Temple, Taiyuan
Take the newly-built multiple unit train of Beijing - Taiyuan by yourself, which only takes 3 hours. The railway station usually receives ticket reservation of 5 days ahead your schedule. Your private guide and car will pick you up at the Taiyuan railway station and transfer you to the hotel. The remainder of the day is free.

Day 02: Taiyuan
In the morning, visit the Double Pagoda Temple (Shuang Ta Si), entirely made of exquisite bricks and stone. Such a unique construction perfectly presents the features of ancient Chinese architecture. Tourists could have a bird's eye view of the city and Fenghe River when reaching the top. Then proceed to the Chongshan Monastery. It once was an enormous scale Buddhism temple and preserves many precious sculptures, paintings and sutras. At present, it welcomes an increasing number of tourists from every corner of the world with its unique charm. Afternoon is free.

Day 03: Taiyuan - Pingyao
Depart from Taiyuan city toward the southwest along the Feng River, you will see a grand ancient city appeared at sight after about 2 hours drive. It is your second destination, Pingyao which has an entire record of many ancient lanes, streets and the residences in the Ming and Qing dynasty. Your guide will especially lead you to visit the City Wall to retrospect the history, walk in the Ming - Qing Street and visit the Ri Sheng Chang Financial House, the first Financial House of China. As a standout representative of the Shanxi commercial business culture in the past, its architecture style and scale are also very typical. Then visit the Tongxinggong ancient bank safeguard and the Courtyard Residence at the end.

Day 04: Pingyao - Datong
Qiao Family's Compound, Pingyao
After breakfast, visit the Qiao Family's Compound considered as the No. 1 folk custom Museum in the North China. Overlooking from the above, the layout of the courtyards forms into double Chinese characters of Xi (stands for felicity and joy) and it's no doubt a precious gem in the north architecture history. The scale of the Qiao family's compound is not the only highlight alluring tourists every corner of the world, the delicate craftsmanship reflected in the brick carving, woodcarving and murals adds more to its charm. The famous films "Raise the Red Lantern" directed by Zhang Yimo once took scene there.
Then private transfer will take you to the Shuanglin Monastery. Among numerous temples in the Shanxi province, Shuanglin Monastery is a very distinctive for the painted sculptures. After the sightseeing in Pingyao, drive to Datong and transfer to the hotel.

Day 05: Datong - Beijing
At the last day, visit the Yungang Grottoes which is one of the world famous stone carving art treasures. The entire grotto has a spectacular appearance and the décor is refined and elegant. Inheriting the essence sculpture skills of Qin and Han dynasty affiliated with its own unique Yugang art style, it represents one of three major cave clusters in China and is pretty precious data for research in sculpture, architecture, music and religion of Buddha. Proceed to visit the Hanging Monastery. Your guide will see you off for a soft sleeper train to Beijing and hope you're happy with us during the trip. Meals : B, L
